Begin in Headmaster Solange's Office
Eyes on the Prize takes place in Headmaster Solange's office after the Gillian story sequence in Chapter 4. Start by inspecting the bookshelf's movable jigsaw tabs, the Mysterious Paper, and the object grid on the opposite shelves.
Follow the Clue Chain Before Using the Answers
The bookshelf tabs provide the opening jigsaw puzzle, while the Mysterious Paper connects to the object grid opposite. Use those references to identify the safe symbols. Inside the safe, the Fancy Key and Reshelfing Rules lead you to the book compartments and the laser puzzle.
Work through that chain in order if you want to preserve the deductions. Read each new clue before moving to the next solution below. Stop at the part you need if the rest of the room is already making sense.
Solve the Bookshelf and Open the Safe
- Set the bookshelf's jigsaw tabs with the far-left tab pointing down, the upper-right tab pointing up, and the lower-right tab pointing right to complete the arrangement.
- Read the Mysterious Paper to obtain the references B4, 4A, 2B, and C1 for the object grid.
- Match those references to the opposite shelves to identify shield, fly, disco ball, and valve in that order.
- Press shield, fly, disco ball, and valve on the safe to open it.
- Collect the Fancy Key from the safe so you can unlock the book compartments.
- Collect the Reshelfing Rules from the safe to learn which books you need to pull.
Follow the Reshelfing Rules and Reveal the Exit Code
- Unlock the book compartments with the Fancy Key to reach the books used by the Reshelfing Rules.
- Pull the books prescribed by the Reshelfing Rules to complete the book arrangement.
- Activate the laser to reveal the exit code 5863.
- Enter 5863 at the exit lock to open the route beyond the office.
- Collect the special glasses beyond the exit to finish this part of the story route.
Check the Clue for Your Current Lock
If you are stuck at the safe, compare the Mysterious Paper with the object grid on the opposite shelves. If you are working on the books, use the Reshelfing Rules collected from the safe. Once the book arrangement is complete, activate the laser for the final code.
Keep your notes for the safe symbols and the exit code separate. When checking an input, compare it with the clue for that particular lock. This makes it easier to spot a copied symbol or misplaced digit.
Your Completion Check
The exit code opens the way beyond the office, where you collect the special glasses. Completing Eyes on the Prize also earns the story achievement of the same name.
